Our Journey

The Foundation Of Trust

Established with Purpose. Built on Trust.

Established in 1972, Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (“LTAT”) was formed with a clear and enduring mandate: to safeguard the long-term financial wellbeing of members of the Malaysian Armed Forces.

Over the decades, LTAT evolved into a discipline and resilient institution, built on prudent stewardship, sound governance and an unwavering sense of duty to those who serve the nation. These formative years laid more than an operational foundation. They built the trust, institutional strength and financial backbone that would enable LTAT to move forward with greater clarity, conviction and purpose.

Growth and Expansion

Expanding Horizons. Strengthening Impact.

Building upon its early foundations, LTAT entered a phase of steady expansion broadening its role beyond a savings institution. From a savings institution, the Fund grew into more active participant in Malaysia’s economic development, with investments across key sectors such as plantations, financial services, manufacturing and property.

This expansion strengthened LTAT’s portfolio and deepened its presence within the national corporate landscape. It also enabled the Fund to play a broader role in generating returns for members, but also in supporting the country’s long-term development. With greater diversification and institutional maturity, the Fund progressed with clearer purpose, reinforcing its dual role as a steward of members’ savings and a contributor to the nation’s long-term growth.

The Transformation Era

Resetting the Course. Restoring Strength.

Between 2019 and 2025, LTAT underwent a defining transformation to address structural challenges, restore confidence and realign the organisation with its long-term mandate. Initiated through the Transformation Plan 2019 and reinforced by MAMPAN25, this journey strengthened LTAT’s financial position, governance and institutional discipline, while building a stronger foundation for long-term resilience.

Through bold but necessary reforms, LTAT emerge more financially resilient, institutionally sound and strategically focus, ready to move towards sustainable value creation.

Charting The Future

Purpose-Driven Growth. Enduring Value. National Impact.

From 2025 onwards, LTAT enters a new chapter shaped by deliberate growth, sharper strategic focus and a stronger commitment to long-term value creation. As the next phase in LTAT’s evolution, GEMPUR30 serves as the roadmap that advances and completes its transformation journey, building on stronger fundamentals to position the institution for sustained progress.

Charting its course towards 2030, LTAT remains committed to delivering responsible growth by balancing financial performance with governance excellence, national responsibility and the enduring trust placed in it by its members. It is a future shaped not only by growth, but by the resolve to deliver enduring value with integrity, purpose and impact.
